About the Instructor
Hi, I'm Adam, founder of Choral Clarity. I am a passionate choral director who believes classroom management is the key to running effective rehearsals. Not only do I believe this with every ounce of my being, but I have more than 20 years of experience teaching choir rules to everyone who walks into my classroom.
As a high school choral director for more than two decades, I have accepted all singers, regardless of skill level, and placed them into the same ensemble. Students need an environment that is conducive to all learners. This can only happen when we develop the right culture for our students.
Over the past two decades, I have modernized my approach to Classroom Management. This approach no longer uses "Rules", "Consequences", and "Rewards". We live in a world where we want our students to feel safe, supported, and guided.

You will first understand the foundation of all decisions we make in the choir room. So many educators continually make the wrong decisions when it comes to running a rehearsal.
Next you will learn how to prepare and what to prepare for: you will learn how to eliminate all disruptions and distractions. You will learn how to create effective guidelines, procedures and routines. You will be prepared to re-direct and encourage students who aren't behaving appropriately. More About Adam Paltrowitz
I have been a public school teacher for more than two decades with over 20 years at the secondary level. I believe that every student can learn to sing. As a result, I run a self-selected choral program where students are not separated based on talent/skill level. This has lead to a highly-successful program where all students view themselves as soloists and develop a sense of self in their singing. This begins with positive learning environment and the ability for each singer to match pitch.
I am also the founder of Choral Clarity, the popular website that consists of 150+ useful blogs and 150+ original choir resources that are available for instant download. I am in the business of inspiring others. My blog, resources, and original choral works have been used at primary, secondary, college, and community choirs around the world. I earned a B.S. from New York University and a M.A. and Ed.M. from Columbia University - Teacher's College.
